FAQS

Here’s some of our most commonly asked questions. If you can’t find the answer to your question here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch by email at SENDIT@PRIZECHIMP.CO.UK.

IS THIS WEBSITE FOR REAL? IT SEEMS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?

Absolutely!

Competition websites, like PrizeChimp, are governed by the UK Gambling Commission. We would be in serious, very expensive legal trouble if we weren’t legitimate and playing by the rules.

Aside from the legal viewpoint, PrizeChimp has been launched as a long term project. The better we do, the better the prizes we can offer, the more we can donate to charities and the more happiness we can spread throughout the Arb & Forestry industries.

Plus, we know that most of you tree workers are well hard, so it wouldn’t be a great idea upsetting you!

WHO CAN ENTER? CHILDREN? AMERICANS?

We are a UK based business, therefore PrizeChimp can only enter your purchased tickets in to the live draws if you:

  • Live in the United Kingdom
  • Have a UK address
  • Are over 16 years old
  • Can afford the entry prices
  • Get the competition question correct
  • Have a great sense of humour

Further terms may apply to certain prizes (for example, if we were to offer a top handle chainsaw, we would require proof of relevant qualifications on entry).

HOW MANY TICKETS MAY I PURCHASE?

You can purchase up to 10 tickets per competition, per person, unless otherwise stated on the competition page. Only 10 tickets per name will be entered in to our live draws.

HOW WILL YOU DECIDE THE WINNER?

We draw the winner live on Facebook, using THIS random number generator, which allows us to remove ticket numbers that have failed to answer the competition question correctly.

On completion of the draw, we will immediately reach out to the competition winner using the details provided to us on entry.

If for some reason we cannot make contact with the winner, we will continue to try for a minimum of 14 days, after which, if we have been unable to contact the winner, we will repeat the draw to find a new one.

WHAT IF YOU DON'T SELL ALL THE TICKETS?

If we have sold 65% or more of the tickets available for a competition, the competition will end on the originally planned end date and we will go ahead with the prize draw as normal.

When all of the tickets for a competition have been sold before the competition end date, we will announce a draw date and identify the winner as soon as possible.

If we fail to sell 65% of tickets by the planned competition end date, we may extend the competition by UP TO a maximum of 28 days (but likely less).

If we extend a competition and for some reason still fail to sell 60%+ of tickets by the amended competition end date, the original prize will be withdrawn and a cash alternative, calculated as a percentage of profit from ticket sales will be offered instead. We do not anticipate this outcome due to our very low ticket numbers, however we are required to have this policy in place to avoid significant financial losses if a competition isn’t successful.

WHO ARE YOU? WHERE ARE YOU?

My name is Ben Broom, I’m a former tree surgeon (sort of – more of a wannabe groundie) and I live in Paignton in Devon. I grew up on the other side of Dartmoor, near Exeter which is also in Devon.

All of our prizes are delivered to you at absolutely no extra cost!

If you’d like to know more about who we are and where PrizeChimp came from, check out the ‘About Us’ page.

DO I NEED FACEBOOK OR INSTAGRAM TO TAKE PART?

Not at all. Our Facebook and our Instagram are used for marketing purposes and to allow us to better engage with our customers.

We use details provided when you enter a competition to contact you regarding competitions (and that’s all we use it for!).

WHERE'S THE SMALL PRINT?

Whilst we do our very best to be as transparent and up front as possible with our customers throughout the website, our full terms and conditions can be seen here.
